Techichorme Industries
This project, located at 10442 David Drive, Acheson, Alberta, involved the flood restoration of the electrical room, with particular focus on the main distribution panel and transformer. Kalkatic Engineering was retained to provide a comprehensive electrical assessment of the main distribution panel, transformer, and house panel for the existing building, and acted as the registered Coordinated Professional of Record for the restoration of flood-damaged electrical equipment.
The scope of work included the following:
- attended the site and reviewed and documented existing conditions with electrician and electrical sub-consultant;
- assessed the damages and note the components that require testing, repair or replacement;
- designed a new system if the component assessed required replacement with new system;
- the new system need to meet applicable codes and standards included NBC 2023-AE; and
- issued a schedule of assurance to authorities having jurisdiction indicating that the work complies with drawings and meet building code requirement.
The deliverables included the following:
- submitted sealed IFC drawings to client and/or its contractor. It also submitted a sealed engineering report/proposal to client;
- reviewed all shop drawings for general compliance with design drawings;
- reviewed all work during construction to ensure compliance with drawings and specifications; and
- upon completion of work, reviewed final work and issued Schedules of Assurance of Compliance C for design and engineering work completed in accordance with the construction drawings and to the Building Code requirements.
